Hansa Jivraj Mehta
Hansa Jivraj Mehta (3 July 1897 - 4 April 1995) was a pioneering freedom fighter, educationist, and champion of women's rights. She became the first woman Vice-Chancellor of the co-educational Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda after Independence and earlier led SNDT College, Bombay. A member of the Constituent Assembly, she represented India at the UN Commission on Human Rights in 1947 and was instrumental in changing "all men are equal" to "all human beings are equal."
